Margie Sue (Moss) Sawyer

Margie Sue Moss Sawyer, 87, of Mount Holly, passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2023. She was born in Kings Mountain, daughter of the late Thurman and Viola Davis Moss. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Bradford "Brad" Wilson Sawyer; her son-in-law, Wayne Lingerfelt; and her sisters, Louise McGraw, Betty Jo Henson, Jeanette Caldwell, and Mary Blake.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Vicky Lingerfelt; her sons, Brad Sawyer (Kathy), and Bruce Sawyer (Debra); four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; her sister, Diane Mullis; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Gaston Hospice for the care and compassion provided to Mrs. Sawyer, while under their care.

A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Sawyer will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 27, 2023, at Grace Baptist Church, Mount Holly. Burial will follow in Castanea Cemetery, Stanley. The Sawyer family will greet guests from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Monday at the church.
