In Loving Memory of a Beautiful Soul

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Marissa Semel Dube', who left this world on Sunday, March 16, 2025, at the age of 51. She was a woman of immeasurable kindness, generosity, and warmth; a true guiding light in the lives of all who knew her.

Her love for animals was boundless. She found joy in feeding raccoons, caring for stray cats, and ensuring that every creature, big or small, felt loved. The beauty of nature always called to her, especially the salty air and rolling waves of Panama City Beach and Myrtle Beach, where she found peace and happiness.

More than anything, she cherished her family. Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Eva Dube', Lindsey Dube' (Rachel Lewis); her grandson, Kaiden Brown; her parents, Rachel Ann Watkins and Donald Watkins; her sister, Lisa Moore; her aunt, Traci Williamson; her niece, Hali Entas; and her nephews, Dustin and Dalton Moore. She felt safest and most content when everyone was together under one roof, sharing laughter, love, and the simple joy of togetherness. She poured her heart into being a loving mother and grandmother, especially to Kaiden, Lindsey, and Eva, whom she adored beyond words.

Her personality was as vibrant as it was nurturing. Sweet, compassionate, and endlessly giving, she had a way of making everyone feel special. She saw the best in people, always offering a helping hand to the homeless, the less fortunate, and anyone in need; never expecting anything in return. She had a deep appreciation for life’s little joys: peace signs, skulls, scratch-offs, and, of course, a good cup of coffee. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering generosity. Though our hearts ache in her absence, we find comfort in knowing that she is at peace, watching over us with the same love she always gave so freely.

A celebration of her life will be held at a later date, where we will honor the incredible woman that she was. A service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday March 23, 2025 at Friendly Baptist Church: 1422 N. Rhyne St. Gastonia, NC 28054.
