Marsha Sharie Kennedy

Marsha Sharie Kennedy, 35, went to heaven on August 18, 2021. She was born in Mecklenburg County on July 3, 1986. She was a graduate of Webb Street School in Gastonia class of 2007, and grew up supporting her brother and his teammates from the Stanley Recreation thru the East Gaston years.

Sharie just turned 35 and this precious, sweet, innocent child will be missed so dearly by everybody that saw her infectious smile and laugh, that was just Sharie. Sharie loved unconditionally as only a child can love and loved her Mommy more than anything in this world.  She loved her colors, Coca Cola, cake and her coloring books. She loved to go to the beach with her entire family every year. Sharie also loved sitting by the pool in the summer flipping her pages in her “borrowed” history book and drinking a “1”.  Anyone that was around her eventually caught themselves speaking the Sharie language and everyone knew that was ‘pine’ and to say ‘no tanks.   Sharie loved to go to ball games raising both her little hands and fist in the air saying “GO BABE” her name for Austin. only her boyfriend Josh had a name and she would shout it out. This girl loved her movies and Bobby made a hit with ET and Lion King on her birthday. Sharie didn’t know she was different. She didn’t know anything but love and she gave lots of it.  She made a grand entrance and exit everywhere she went no matter the occasion that we all will never forget. Sharie Kennedy had a larger-than-life presence and anyone who had the privilege of meeting her and loving this sweet person knew she was placed in this crazy world by God to bring so much happiness and show us what pure love is. Sharie made that impression on so many people and she will forever be missed. 

Survivors include her mother DeRee Dellinger Galyan, her special daddy Bobby Carrigan, her father Mark Anthony Kennedy and wife Sandy, a brother Austin "Babe" Galyan, a sister Katie Kennedy, her grandfather Jerry Dellinger, two uncles Danny Dellinger, James Dellinger and wife Cindy, cousins Sammie Jo Dellinger and Charlie Bella-Reese Pressley. She was preceded in death by her grandmother Geraldine "MawMaw" Dellinger, a brother James Allen Kennedy, grandparents Hazel and Minnie Kennedy, and great grandparents Sam and Edith Lineberger and James and Bea "Granny" Dellinger.

The funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Community Pentecostal Center in Stanley with Pastor Eddie McGinnis officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Woodlawn Funeral Home from 6 - 8 p.m. Saturday.
