Marty Knox Greely, 54, of 307 North Hawthorne Street in Mount Holly, died unexpectedly on Sunday, May 9, 2021 at Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia. She was born in Mecklenburg County, daughter of John and Delores "Ann" Rick Knox. She graduated from Roanoke High School, Robersonville, NC, and attended UNC-Charlotte. She was nominated for consideration to West Point among many other achievements in her lifetime. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her spouse, Richard D. Greely and daughter Makayla Greely; siblings Derrick W. Knox and wife, Shelly and Tara M. Knox; one niece Victoria B. Knox, and two nephews, Tanner B. Knox and J.P. Knox; as well as several aunts, Ann Knox, Vickie Walker, and Janet Pate. She was preceded in death by her grandparents. The family will greet guests from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 13, 2021 at Second Baptist Church, 740 Rankin Avenue in Mount Holly. A service to celebrate her life will be held immediately following at 2:00, also at the church. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery in Mount Holly.
