Mary Louise (Stewart) Harkey

Mary Louise Harkey, age 91, of Stanley, died on Sunday, January 15, 2023 at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte.  She was born in Gaston County and was the daughter of the late Lewis and Lula Bryson Stewart.  She was a graduate of Paw Creek High School and retired from Ramsey Products after 30 plus years of service.  She was a member of First Baptist Church in Mount Holly.  Mary Lou enjoyed time of fellowship over meals at restaurants with Rick and friends.  Her favorite color was Red, and she loved flowers. 

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Freddie Harkey, two brothers:  William Stewart, and Clarence Stewart; as well as her longtime companion Clarence Rick. Those left to cherish her memory include her sister-in-law, Margaret Stewart, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. 

A service to celebrate her life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday January 21, 2023 at First Baptist Church, Mount Holly.  Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Saturday also at the Church.  Burial will follow at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery, Mount Holly.  In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to Holy Angels, or to First Baptist Church Mount Holly.
