Mary Helms Peche, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 25, 2026. She was born in Gaston County, daughter of the late Willie Helms and Vernie Medlin Helms. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Richard S. Peche Sr., her son Terry Lee Peche, grandson Eric Shane Childers, David Peche Jr., great grandson Camden Skylar Childers, as well as her siblings: Donna Bowen, Dorothy Stone, and Kenneth Helms.
Mary retired from Belmont Hosiery after many years of service. She was happiest when loving on her family and friends. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved the Lord and was always ready to go to Church to worship him. She never met a stranger and loved everyone she met.
Mrs. Peche is survived by her children: Pamela Peche Pilgrim (Terry), Richard Stephen Peche Jr., David Lynn Peche Sr., Gary Wayne Peche, Heather Lynn Peche; her grandchildren: Thomas Childers III (Jenny), Joshua Childers (Kristen), Chasity Thompson (Jason), Jeremy Peche (J.K.) Stephen Peche (Martha) Amy Peche, Misty Peche, and Shane Peche; her great grandchildren: Alex Childers, Ella Childers, Braedon Childers, Eli Childers, Avery Peche, Abel Peche, Eoghan Peche, Eden Peche, Micheal Peche, Alex Austin, A.J. Austin, Ava Thompson, Lilly Peche, Jordan Peche, Destin Faile, Lennox Schlaefe, Kaylee Peche, and Alyssa Peche, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday July 3, 2026 in the Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home in Mount Holly with Pastor Dusty Prince officiating. The family will receive friends beginning one hour prior to the service on Friday also at the Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Alex Austin, A.J. Austin, Braedon Childers, Eli Childers, Alex Childers, and Stephen Peche.
