Elizabeth "Lib" Wiles, 94, passed away on January 3, 2026, at Stanley Total Living Center in Stanley. She was born in Cabarrus County, daughter of the late Charles Hamilton and Naomi Pearl Leach Holloway. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years Delmer Ray Wiles; sisters, Ruby Holloway Swing, Edith Holloway, and Mildred Holloway; a brother, Howard Holloway; and son-in-law, Tim Hope.
She was vice president of her 1950 graduating class of J.W. Cannon High School in Kannapolis. After being a homemaker for many years, she worked at and retired from A&E. She was an active member of First Baptist Church, Mount Holly, for over 60 years. She loved her Sunday School class, her lunch buddies, and her many friends. Most of all she loved her family. She enjoyed reading and quilting.
She is survived by her children, Gehrig Wiles and wife, Dorothy, Kristen Wiles Beatty and husband, Lee, Karen Wiles Hope, Mark Wiles and wife, Tracy, Kevin Wiles and wife, Teresa, and Clint Wiles and wife, Lisa; her grandchildren, Niel Kristian Wiles, Brooks Wiles, Allison Beatty, Mark Beatty, Eric Hope, Rachel Hope Jones, Kelly Wiles, Austin Wiles, Kathleen Wiles Bourbeau, Kevin T. Wiles, and J.D. Wiles; great-grandchildren, are Laysen Wiles, Adare Wiles, step granddaughter Sadie Kay-Madgett, Lucas Jones, Riley Jones, Ella Wiles, Hugh Wiles, Joshua Bourbeau, Audrey Wiles, Harrison Wiles, and Oliver Wiles. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday January 13, 2026 at 2:30 pm at the family cemetery Elbert Wiles Cemetery in Crumpler, North Carolina. Reverend John Jackson officiating. A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church of Mount Holly at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Mount Holly, Via Health Partners (Hospice) of Lincolnton, NC or to Stanley Total Living Center, Stanley, NC.
