Michael Dale Harvey

Michael Dale Harvey, age 60, passed away on Wednesday December 10, 2025 at Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia. He was born in Mecklenburg County, son of the late Doyle Harvey and Nancy Pettus Harvey. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother Dennis Harvey, his sister Selma Harvey, his maternal grandmother Nobie Pettus, as well as his paternal grandfather Jess Harvey.

Mr. Harvey loved his entire family and will be missed by everyone who knew and loved him. He was a past master of the Masonic Lodge in Belmont, where he made many long lasting friendships. He was an amateur radio operator for many years, his call sign was AC4NP and he also enjoyed his small net group. In his spare time, he loved to go camping at the mountains and the beach, and could always be found working on antique cars and tractors

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 41 years Michele Harvey; his children: Derek Harvey and Matthew Harvey; his sisters: Carolyn Nalley (Jimmy), and Terry Gamble, as well as numerous cousins and nephews.

A graveside service to celebrate Mr. Harvey's life will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Belmont at 2:30 pm on Wednesday December 17, 2025. Officiating the service is "Chappy" Kevin Pitts. Pallbearers will include: Derek Harvey, Matt Harvey, Brad Milton, Alex Bryson, Scott Carrigan, and Steve Mercer. The family will receive friends at Woodlawn Funeral Home before the graveside from 1-2pm. Woodlawn Funeral Home will be caring for the Harvey family.
