Horace Michael Haun, 73, passed away on August 21, 2024 at the Robin Johnson Hospice House after a battle with ALS. He was born in Gaston County, son of the late Horace Greeley and Nell Bryant Womack, and was preceded in death by his sister Judy Fowler and her husband Larry.
Mike retired from the US Air National Guard after 25 years.He loved woodworking and carpentry, and was along time member of the Stanley Pentecostal Holiness Church.He was an active Sunday School member and helped with various church activities.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years Vickie Buchanan Haun, a daughter Ashley Simmons and husband John, three grandchildren, Walker, Mason and Aiden Simmons, a brother Tommy Fowler and wife Susan, a nephew Howie Fowler, two nieces Kim Carter and Robin Chaney, and a nephew Timothy Fowler.
The funeral service conducted by Rev. Dr. Danny Penny and Pastor Eric Chaney will be held on Sunday August 25, 2024 -3:45 at The
Stanley Pentecostal Holiness Church. The family will receive friends at the church from 2:00-3:30 pm.
Interment with military honors will follow in the Berea Baptist Church Cemetery.
