Micheal "Mick" Russell Abernathy

Micheal "Mick" Russell Abernathy, 82, formerly of Stanley, went home to be with the Lord Monday, February 8, 2021 at Brian Center in Lincolnton. He was born in Gaston County to the late Eli Curby and Annie Brown Abernathy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters Ollie Helms and Mary Boggs, as well as three brothers Bailey, Ted, and Don Abernathy. Those left to cherish his memory include two sisters, Lois Summey (Gertis) and Becky Shelton, and two brothers, Ben Abernathy (Marie), and Robert Abernathy (Jane); as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The family will greet guests from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 13, 2021 in the Woodlawn Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home in Mount Holly. A service to celebrate his life, officiated by Randy Summey, will be held immediately following at 11:00, also at the funeral home.
