Mikey James Furr, 69, of Dallas, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 1, 2021 at his home. He was born in Gaston County to the late Wade and Hazel Furr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Cathy and Wanda Furr, and a step grandson, Jonathan Cope. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Linda Johnson Furr; children, Scottie Furr and his wife Barbara, Tammy Moore and her husband Mike, J.C. Furr and his wife Ashley, and Lisa Furr; stepchildren, Kenneth Smith and his wife Wendy, Theresa Black, Sandy Craven and her husband Grady, and Tracy Cope and her husband Richard; his sister, Nancy Whitely and her husband Don; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; thirteen step grandchildren, and seventeen step great grandchildren. His family will remember him as a loving husband, father, and pawpaw, and for his sense of humor and BIG laugh. A special thanks goes out, from the family, to the staff at Gaston Hospice for your compassion, care, and concern for Mr. Furr. The family will greet guests from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at Woodlawn Funeral Home in Mount Holly. A service to celebrate his life will be held immediately following at 3:00, in the Woodlawn Chapel of the funeral home. Interment will conclude at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery in Mount Holly.
