Mildred Louise (McCall) Goodson

Mildred Louise Goodson, 89, passed away on Saturday, August 28, 2021. She was born in Mecklenburg County, daughter of the late Bradley McCall and Mary (Maggie) Perry Silva. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Goodson; her brothers, Bill McCall and Robert McCall; and her son-in-law, Farrell Buchanan. Mrs. Goodson was a member of Fraley Memorial Baptist Church. Her greatest joy in life, in recent years, was seeing her grandchildren, especially her newest great-grandchild, Owen Messer, and great great-grandchild, Pressley Wiggins.

Mrs. Goodson is survived by her children, Wanda Buchanan Beaty and spouse, James, Danny Hill, Michael Hill, and Barry Goodson and spouse, Michele; her grandchildren, Michelle Buchanan, Dawn Dills and spouse, Mike, Crystal Rhyne, Jason Hill, Clint Hill, Daniel Hill, Garrett Goodson, Lacey Messer and spouse, Josey, and Emma Goodson; her sisters, Virginia Miller and spouse, Jerry, and Betty Johnson; a number of great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and special friends, Elizabeth "Sissy" McConnell and Mary Biggerstaff.

A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Goodson will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at the Woodlawn Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home, Mount Holly. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
