Mildred Goins Grice, age 95, passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior on Thursday, September 10, 2020, at her home. Born in Gaston County to the late Carl Lee and Ladistie Goins, she was predeceased by her brothers Walter, Eugene, and John Goins and sister Clyda Traywick. She was a 1943 graduate of Belmont High School. On July 4, 1946, she married the love of her life, Paul Gamble Grice, and they enjoyed over 57 years of marriage. She was a loving caregiver to him before his death in 2004. Mildred was an active member of Cook’s Memorial Presbyterian Church and the Spiritual Life Bible class. She found joy in sending cards, working word find puzzles, quilting with the Cook’s Quilters, reading and studying the Bible, and supporting all areas of church life as she was able. A lifelong homemaker, she took pride in her home and her family. For many years she was the hostess to large family gatherings at holidays and Saturday night cookouts. She is survived by three daughters: Carol Holcomb (Bill) of Reidsville, Susan Moore (Alan) of Mint Hill, and Wanda Kiker (Tommy) of Charlotte. She was also survived by a daughter, Paulette Roberts, of the home, who passed away September 23, 2020. In addition, she leaves 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. A private graveside service will be held Saturday, October 3, 2020, at Forest Lawn West. Respects may be paid at the funeral home on Friday, October 2, 2020 from noon until 5:00 p.m. and also Saturday morning prior to the graveside. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
