Mildred E. (Purcell) Seay

Mildred Purcell Seay, 96, passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at Stanley Total Living Center. She was born in Guilford County, daughter of the late Odis and Bessie Hughes Purcell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Edward Seay; and her brothers, Charles Purcell, Jerry Purcell, and Dr. Ernest S. Purcell.

Mrs. Seay was a retired nurse with the former Gaston Memorial Hospital, with 20 years of service. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Mount Holly, the Tuckasegee Sole Patrol Senior Group, and a member of Senior Meals of Mount Holly.

Mrs. Seay is survived by her daughter, Patricia 'Trish' Seay Baucom (Johnny) of Kannapolis; her son, William 'Bill' Seay (Jean) of Newland; her grandchildren, Melissa Duncan (Chris), Jeanna Panter, Joe Seay (Tiffany), and Julia Roberts (Dusty); her great-grandchildren, Harrison Johnson, Gabriel Johnson, Alaina Johnson, Damian Seay, Dylan Seay, Dylan Duncan, and Bryson Duncan; her great great-grandchild, Remi Grace Seay; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A graveside service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Seay will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery, Mount Holly. Mrs. Seay will lie in repose at the Woodlawn Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home, Mount Holly from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
