Millard Cole Obituary

Millard Randall Cole, Jr., age 78, passed away on Monday June 2, 2025 at his home. He was born in Knox County Maine, son of the late Millard Randall Cole, Sr., and Emma Louise Callahan Cole. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Alice Wallace.

Mr. Cole proudly served his country in the U.S. Army in Germany and France from 1964-1967. Throughout his life, he enjoyed working on cars and motorcycles, taking road trips (sometimes to nowhere in particular), completing all forms of yard work, camping, and spending time with family; all while cracking jokes and loving the Lord.

Music was a big part of his life. As recalled by his sister, Zelma, he played horns in the Rockland Bugle Corps and loved joining their cousin, Butch, in playing Taps on the trumpet at sunset over the water at So Pond. He enjoyed playing the guitar, bass, and singing to and with his family; bluegrass was always enjoyed from the stage as the standup bass player or from the audience.

His wife, who he lovingly called Pammy Sue, recalls buying their first home together in 1974 in Meriden, CT, a safe place to raise their children. During the early days of fatherhood, he enjoyed quarter midget racing. He remained fond of all forms of garage projects, including staying up all night to rebuild engines. Water sports and boating were highly valued; he taught all three of his children to waterski and kneeboard.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 55 years Pamela Sue Damon Cole; his children: Millard R. Cole III (Dawn), and his children Alan, Mackenzie, and Brenner; Manetta Treat (Joseph) and their children Ashlin, Julia, Leah, Maelin, Naomi, and Jacob Treat; Tamar Robinson (Ronald Jr.); his sisters Zelma Williams (David) and Mary Lou Rumbarger.

A service to celebrate his life will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Saturday, June 7, 2025, in the Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home in Mount Holly. The family will receive friends from 3:30 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. on Saturday also at the funeral home.
