Nancy (Hamrick) Hannah

Nancy Hamrick Hannah, age 77, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday December 9, 2024 at Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia.  She was born in Gaston County, daughter of the late Ithiel and Virginia Terry Hamrick.  

Nancy loved her entire family and will be missed dearly.  She was a dedicated, and hard worker who spent her entire career working in the telecommunications industry and eventually retired from AT&T after over 30 years of service.  She was a lady of strong faith who loved to attend church especially to hear her sister sing.  In her spare time, she loved to be outdoors and sit by her pool in the sun.  She especially loved Christmas time and listening to Christian music.  

Those left to cherish her memory include her son Donnie Heavener (Wendy), her siblings: Victor Hamrick, and Jo Ann Payne (Bob); her grandchildren: Lacy Heavener, and Ashlyn Heavener, her great grandchildren: Zoey, Allison, and Emma Frey, as well as her niece Janice Payne and nephew Ben Payne.  

A service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday December 14, 2024 in the Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. on Saturday also at the Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Alexis Baptist Church Cemetery in Alexis.
