Nelson Steele

  Nelson Moody Steele, 66, of Mount Holly, NC passed away peacefully on September 19, 2026. He was preceded in death by his parents; Henry F. Steele Jr., Ruth L. Heffner, and brother Henry F. Steele III. He is survived by; brother David Steele and his wife Brenda Steele, son Nelson R. Steele and grandchildren Chloe, Caleb and Carleigh Steele.

     Nelson was an extremely dedicated worker. One to work through being sick as he would like to reserve his sick days to be on a lake fishing. Hobbies included sewing, jigsaw puzzles, camping, fishing, dirt track racing and passing along knowledge, regardless of it being useful or not. His dream was to one day retire and open up a food truck to feed the homeless. He was truly a giving soul. He is missed, extremely.

     In lieu of flowers and funeral service: Goshen Freewill Baptist Church; 1300 West Catawba Avenue, Mount Holly, NC 28120. We will be receiving guests on Sunday, September 27 at 2:00 PM, and service will begin at 3:00 PM.
