Peggy (Bass) Greene

Peggy Bass Greene, age 80, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, December 27, 2024 at her home.  She was born in Blythewood, SC, daughter of the late Talmadge Bass, and Sara Cato Bass.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her two sons: Todd and Chad Greene;, her siblings: Talmadge Bass Jr., and Shirley Huffstetler, as well as her sister in law Linda Bass.  

Peggy was known for her sense of humor and her love for her entire family.  She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and will be missed dearly.  She was a lady of strong faith and served her Lord for many years at Community Pentecostal Center in Stanley.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 62 years Butch Greene; her daughter Rhonda Slifer (Mark), her brother Roger Bass (Shirley), her grandchildren: Mallory Kirkland (Taylor), and Caleb Greene; as well as her great grandchildren: Miller Kirkland and Coleson Skinner.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday January 2, 2025 at Community Pentecostal Center in Stanley with Pastor Eddie McGinnis and Pastor Scottie Cochran officiating.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. on Thursday also at the Church.  Burial will follow at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery in mount Holly.   

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Community Pentecostal Center, or to VIA Health Partners.
