Peter Daniel Elkovich, “Pete”, beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, passed away peacefully on March 28, 2025, in Charlotte, N.C. surrounded by his loved ones. Born November 5, 1946, in Staten Island, NY. The family eventually moved to New Jersey. Pete was a devoted family man who touched the lives of many with his smile and will be missed greatly.
Pete passed away peacefully at Novant Presbyterian Hospital on March 28, 2025, at the age of 78. He was a fun-loving child who enjoyed interacting with the neighbor kids in Pompton Lakes, NJ. Pete married Patricia Bode Elkovich, “Patty” from Bloomingdale, NJ. He served in the United States Air Force for four years. He attended Farleigh Dickerson College, NJ, before moving to Charlotte, NC.
Pete was the best family man. He loved his family more than anything. He was very proud of his sons, Brian, Wayne and Peter. He loved the water and enjoyed taking his boat out on the lake accompanied by his sons, grandkids and great grandkids.
Pete was preceded in death by his father Peter Ignatius Elkovich; his mother, Jennie Elkovich; and his wife, Patty Elkovich. He is survived by his grandchildren, Tiffany, Ciarra, Chris, Damien and Kayla and great grandchildren, Austyn, Ashtyn, Abel, Kaleb and Cooper; and sisters, Marianne Autorino and Jane Elkovich.
The family will greet guests on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Woodlawn Funeral Home, Mount Holly. A Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 507 S. Tryson St., Charlotte, NC. Burial will be held at 3:30 p.m. at Forest Lawn West Cemetery, Charlotte.
