Rachel Marie (Pavelek) Pearson

Rachel Pavelek Pearson, 40, of Gastonia, met Jesus face to face Monday, September 13, 2021 just two days after her husband James "Jimmy" William Pearson, Jr. passed away.  Rachel was born in Fayette County, Pennsylvania to Machan and Elma Sanner Pavelek.  In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Mabel and Arthur Sanner.  Rachel graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Music from Youngstown State University and a Master's Degree in Education from Slippery Rock University.  She was an active member of Flint Groves Baptist Church in Gastonia.  In addition to her parents, Rachel is survived by her paternal grandmother, Catherine Pavelek; her two brothers Micah Pavelek and his wife Keri and Matthew Pavelek and his wife Donielle; her nieces and nephews, Noah Ava, Ezra, Anna, Maxwell, Memphis, and one other on the way; as well as her mother-in-law Cyndi Ennis and step bonus mother-in-law, Lori Pearson.  A service to celebrate Rachel's life, along with her husband Jimmy, will be held Friday, September 17, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Flint Groves Baptist Church, 2017 E. Ozark Avenue in Gastonia.  Interment will follow the service at Westview Gardens Cemetery in Bessemer City.  The family will greet guests from 12:00 until 2:00, prior to the funeral hour, also at the church.  In lieu of flowers,, memorials may be made to Flint Groves Baptist Church in their honor.  Arrangements are in the care of Woodlawn Funeral Home in Mount Holly.  Online condolences may be left at www.woodlawnfuneral.org.
