Ray Reynolds Obituary

On Saturday December 27, 2025 Ray Reynolds was rocked to sleep by angels who woke him up in heaven with his beloved wife Lynda, son Barry, and Jesus after being at his home for 53 days under Hospice care supported by his loving family.  He was born in Rowan County, son of the late George Reynolds, and Vera Crump Reynolds.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his former wife of 43 years Lynda Clark Reynolds, his son Barry Reynolds, as well as his siblings: Marie Schronce, Roy Reynolds, Louise Norman, Estelle Rhinehart, Stella Strickland, Georgia Maners, and Dorothy Prater.

Ray spent his entire career in residential construction, and was a proud charter member of the Major Charles Q. Petty camp sons of Confederate Veterans.  He found happiness when surrounded by his family or researching genealogy and his family history.  He will be remembered as a lighthearted man who loved to laugh and tell jokes to anyone that would listen.  Ray was a longtime active member of Stanley Pentecostal Holiness Church where he served his Lord in many ways.  In his spare time, he could be found enjoying the outdoors, and loved racing old cars in his younger years.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Pamela Suttenfield Roberts-Reynolds, his daughter Lorie Reynolds. his grandchildren: Jacob Rayfield, Heather Rhyne, Jesse Rayfield, Zachary Reynolds, and Erin Lewis, his sister Mary Hartman, nine great grandchildren, and his beloved dog Reese.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to his two hospice nurses Lauren and Kim for all of their compassionate care for Ray.

A service to celebrate his life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday January 3, 2026 at Stanley Pentecostal Holiness Church with Dr. Danny Penny officiating.  The family will receive friends from m12:30 until 1:30  on Saturday also at the Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to VIA Health Partners.
