Reba Helms Pressley, age 80, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday February 23, 2025 at The Robin Johnson Hospice House in Dallas. She was born in Mecklenburg County, daughter of the late Brown Helms and Betty Sharpe Helms. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her three siblings, as well as her grandson Steven Rice.
Ms. Pressley was a lady of strong faith who loved God with her whole heart. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will be missed dearly. She always made sure to pray for her entire family for their protection and most importantly, their salvation. In her spare time, she enjoyed getting her hair done, shopping, and most importantly, going to Church. She was well known for her cooking and always made sure that you never left her home hungry. She especially looked forward to Friday's when she was able to get her favorite oyster stew. She will also be remembered as a person who was always uplifting and encouraging to others.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children: David Brooks (Ann), Dawn Rikard (Mark), Ricky Helms (Kim), Michele Nichols (Win), Shannon Anthony, and Kelly Anthony, as well as her sister Connie Carter. She had 16 precious grandchildren and 13 great grands whom she adored.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Thursday February 27, 2025 at Woodlawn Funeral Home in Mount Holly. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn West Cemetery in Charlotte. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday February 26, 2025 at Woodlawn Funeral Home.
