Rebecca Lee (Pennell) Johnson

Rebecca Pennell Johnson, age 75, passed away on Wednesday May 8, 2024 at Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia.  She was born in Gaston County and was the daughter of the late Jack and Betty Pennell.  She was a former member of Emanuel Free Will Baptist Church in Dallas.  In her spare time, she loved to spend time with her family who she cared for deeply.  She also enjoyed sewing, cooking, and spending weekends at the boathouse.  

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by :her husband Daniel Johnson:;and her two brothers  Jerry and Tommy Pennell, as well as her sister Kay Pennell.  Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Tim Johnson (Debbie), and Tony Johnson.  Her sister Jean Hastings; her two grandchildren: Stefanie Johnson and Heather Revels; as well as her great grandchildren: Aidan Burnette, Liam Rose, Elijah Revels, Lanna Revels, Bella Davis, and Remi Goforth.  

The family will conduct a service to celebrate her life at a later date.
