Reed Gregory Hawkins

Reed Gregory Hawkins, age 71 passed away on Sunday August 13, 2023 at Carolina Caring Hospice House in Newton.  He was born in Mecklenburg County and was the son of the late Howard and Jeanine Hawkins.  He was a one of a kind man and was a loving father, and grandfather.  In his spare time, he enjoyed anything to do with racing, especially drag racing. 

Those left to cherish his memory include his children: Greg Hawkins (Dawn), and Markie McMurtry (David), his brother Tim Hawkins (Beth), his grandchildren: Skylar Hawkins, Chloe Hawkins, Marshall McMurtry, and Silas McMurtry, as well as his nephew Brayden Hawkins. The family will gather to celebrate his life on Saturday August 19, 2023 at Woodlawn Funeral Home, Mount Holly from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.
