Richard Allen Bennett, Jr.

Richard Allen Bennett, Jr., 63, passed away on Monday, August 12, 2024, at his home. He was born in Mecklenburg County, son of the late Richard Allen Bennett, Sr. and Doris Elizabeth Trull Bennett. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Jo Bennett; and his step-daughter, Michelle Greene.

Mr. Bennett is survived by his grandchildren, Ashley Greene (Charles Edwards), and Phillip Greene; his great-grandchildren, Miles and Charlie Edwards; his sisters, Ann Brewer, Susan Walker, June Whitley (Brian), Brenda Carter, Belinda Robinson (Rodney), and Rebecka Reeves; and special friends, Cindy Krause, Keith Lee, and Keegan Lambright.

A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Bennett will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 16, 2024, at the Woodlawn Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home, Mount Holly. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery, Mount Holly. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
