Richard Earl Rorie

Richard Earl Rorie, 77, passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at his home, with his daughter by his side. He was born in Mecklenburg County, son of the late Walter and Mary Elizabeth Thompson Rorie. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Patsy Dianne Hoard Rorie; and his sister, Dorothy McQueen.

Mr. Rorie is survived by his daughter, Tammy Rorie Hernandez and her husband, Ruti; his brother, Allen Rorie and his wife, Christine; and his grandchildren, Petra and Richie Hernandez.

A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Rorie will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, July 3, 2020 at the Woodlawn Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home, Mount Holly. Pastor Grady Scott Miller will officiate. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn (West) Cemetery, Charlotte. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
