Ricky (Skippy) Reid Scronce, 66, passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at Wendover Hospice House, Shelby. He was born in Catawba County son of the late Blondie Lucille Scronce Beal and Franklin Beal. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jay Fitch; and his beloved lab, Dakota.
Mr. Scronce is survived by his wife and love of his life, Linda Moore Scronce; his children, Chris Scronce (Amanda White), Toni Scronce, Shannon Hager (David), and Michelle Locklear (Chris); fifteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; special nephew, Lee Moore (Jenifer); and several nieces and nephews. He adored them all.
Rick loved life and he loved people fiercely. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, building, and pressing that button to order Temu! He had a passion for his wife, his children and grandchildren; and his dog, Nora. He loved Jesus and didn't mind telling anyone who asked. He accepted everyone he loved as family and loved all his baby girls and boys. He was our Pop. He loved good food and his chocolate milk, known to all of us as his rabbits! His favorite words were, "Mom, bring me a rabbit." Rick's legacy of love and acceptance will live on forever, he will be missed by so many.
A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Scronce will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at New Covenant Church, 14514 Lucia Riverbend Hwy., Mount Holly, NC.
