Robert William Black

Robert William Black, 86, of Oak Island and Mount Holly, NC, passed away on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at his home in Mount Holly. He was born in Mecklenburg County, son of the late Carroll A. Black Sr. and Hattie Primm Black. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Donaldson Black; and his brother, Buddy Black.

Bob Black is survived by his son, Jody Black (Kelley); his grandchildren, Audrey Black and Issac Black; his brother, Barry Black (Suzanne); and a number of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Mr. Black will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, May 19, 2025, at the Woodlawn Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home, Mount Holly, NC. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. A service will also be held, at a later date, in Oak Island, NC.
