Robert Michael Hines

Robert Michael Hines passed away at his home on November 5, 2023, Mike was born April 12, 1958, in Gastonia, North Carolina to the late Floyd Gene and Gloria Dean Groves Hines.

He was preceded into heaven by his parents and his wife, Joye Louise Harrison Hines, who he loved with his whole heart.

Mike was a true testament to a life that was changed by the Lord. Mike confessed that Jesus had his heart years ago, so it was His heart now, and he was just along for the ride. And what a ride it was! He and Joye were always up for adventure, moving from one side of the US to another. He never knew where their life adventures would take them. He was her caretaker for the rest of her life where he then moved in with his daddy, Floyd, and lovingly took care of him for the rest of his life also.

He was a humble, kindhearted man that loved his family. His grandchildren were one of his biggest sources of joy. He also loved Southern Gospel music, sweet Southern tea, his Miami Dolphins, Tarheel basketball and could get heated up over some politics! He had a passion for golf, and almost had the opportunity to golf in the amateur PGA Open! Jeepers!

Left to mourn his tremendous loss are his daughter Alexis Victoria Hines, son Dusty Harrison, wife Tonya, grandchildren Elijah, Sarah, Gabriel, Sofia and Ezekiel, Alicia Griffith and great granddaughter Everlee; brothers Floyd Gene Hines, Jr., wife Debbie, nephew Mark Cameron Hines, wife Kaylee, great niece and nephew Amelia and Stratton; Jeffrey Scott Hines, wife Teresa, niece Stefani Marie, husband Dr. Neal Kaushal, nephew Matthew Shane Drake, wife Megan, great nieces and nephews Jalynn, Matthew (Mac), Callahan, Barrett and Gloria Noelle and everyone else he welcomed into his life. He was a friend to everyone that he met.

On behalf of Mike's family, we want to thank everyone for the unconditional love and support you have given him and for the prayers after his loss.

A memorial service will be determined at a later time and will be posted once details are worked out.
