Robert “Bob” Andrew Lucas, 85, passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at his daughter’s home. Born on August 21, 1939, in Hartstown, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Andrew John and Mary Agnes Dupal Lucas. Bob grew up in Espyville, Pennsylvania, and graduated from Conneaut Lake High School in 1957. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 46 years, Judith Gail Bollard Lucas, along with his sisters Marion Zaebst and Margaret Kiggins, and brother John Lucas.
A proud veteran of the Army Air Forces, Bob enjoyed a long career as a chemical operator, beginning at Cabot Titania Corporation in Ashtabula, Ohio, Lubrizol in Painesville, Ohio, Radiator Specialty in Charlotte, NC and retiring from Hoechst Celanese in Mount Holly, North Carolina, where he had moved with his family in 1986. Known as a jack of all trades, in his younger days, he had a passion for flying planes and racing cars at Raceway 7 in Ashtabula, Ohio. He also had a love for collector cars and car shows.
Mr. Lucas is survived by his daughters, Linda McCurdy (Bert) of Mount Holly, NC, Lisa Pawlowski of Columbus Georgia, and Lori Stroud (David) of Clayton, NC; his grandchildren Katelyn Miller (Ryan) Norwalk, CT, Tyler McCurdy (Sheila) of Belmont, NC, Emily McCurdy (Zach Danielsen fiancé) of Mint Hill, NC, and Landon Stoud of Clayton, NC; great-granddaughter Lillian Jane Miller of Norwalk, CT; sisters Bernadine Miltner and Helen Wentink; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Bob will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and cherished family member. Services for Mr. Lucas will be held at a later date.
