Roberta Mae (Wright) Brown

Mrs. Brown, 77, of Mount Holly was called home by our Lord October 8, 2021 at Carolina Caring Hospice House in Sherrills Ford. She was born in Iredell County to the late James Andrew and Maggie Helms Wright. She was a member of Independence Hill Baptist Church. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 56 years, Earl Brown; sons, Ryan Brown and his wife Rhonda of Mount Holly, Duane Brown of Harrisburg, Jonathan Brown of Charleston, and Darrell Brown and his wife Shauna of Charleston; grandchildren, Jonny, Seth, Hunter, Ashley, Sarah, William, and Rachel; sister, Mary Putt of Huntersville, brothers, J.D. Wright of Mooresville, and Michael Wright of Supply, NC; five nieces and eight nephews. In addition to her parents, Roberta was predeceased by her brothers, Paul Wright, Claude Wright, Hubert Wright, Ralph Wright, and sister, Eva Caldwell. Roberta dearly loved her family. She continued her mother’s tradition of making the finest chicken and dumplings. Roberta was a strong supporter of the Boy Scouts. She served in several leadership roles, was Wood Badge trained (SR-100), was a Brotherhood member of Catawba Lodge, and a recipient of the District Award of Merit. Visitation will be held on Saturday October 23, 2021 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home, 375 Woodlawn Avenue Mount Holly, with a celebration of life service beginning at 2:00 pm.
