Roger Braswell Obituary

Roger Lee Braswell, 84, passed away at Caromont Regional Medical Center on March 12, 2025. Roger was a native of Gaston County. He was born on February 11, 1941, to the late George "Stump" Braswell and Martha Wright Braswell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his spouse Janice Pridmore Braswell and their son Kelly Scott Braswell. He is survived by his granddaughter, Frances Hannah Braswell, and many friends.
Roger was a unique character. His passion in life was "finding a bargain". He was an avid lover of cars, guns, and auctions. He always kept a keen eye out for items to add to his collection.
Roger was somewhat of a "routine guy". You never had to look for him in the mornings – you could always find him with his cousin and close friend, Glenn “Buddy” Wright, and the rest of his buddies and staff at the Balls Grill And Produce in Gastonia. He was referred to as the "President" of the group. He will be remembered and missed at breakfast every day in his group that was more like family.
The photo in this obituary was taken by his only grandchild in 1999 when she was 5 years old, with a Polaroid he gave her. Receiving this camera from Roger is one of her earliest fond memories of him, so she felt it was the best photo to appear here.
Roger will be remembered in a private family gathering to honor his life. The family will share memories and stories to smile and celebrate his life. Woodlawn Funeral Home of Mount Holly is caring for Mr. Braswell's family. Condolence messages may be sent to the family by visiting
