Ronald Timothy Messer

Ronald Timothy Messer, 74, passed away peacefully with his family by his side, on May 13, 2024 at Caromont Regional Medical Facility. He was born in Mecklenburg County to the late James Linwood and Dorothy Helms Messer. 
Tim was a sergeant in the United States Marine Corp. He served his time in Vietnam. Although he was proud of his service for his country he was quiet about his tour. After returning from Vietnam, he met his wife Charlotte Seaman whom he was married to for 49 years. He worked as a welder for Gaston County Dye for over 20 years. He then moved on to driving a truck for Blue Max Trucking. He loved Nascar and could be found cheering on his favorite driver Richard Petty. 
Those left to cherish his memories are his family, which he dearly loved: Charlotte his wife , his daughter Stacey Messer and his son Clifton (Jamie), his grandkids Jackson and Rylee which often referred to him as Pawpaw Max.
The family will greet guests from 1:00 pm-2:00pm this Sunday May 19,2024 at Woodlawn Funeral Home. The service will be held directly after the receiving at 2:00pm in the chapel.
