Ronnie Marion Hovis

Ronnie Marion Hovis, 75, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, August 27, 2022. He was born in Hardin, North Carolina, the son of Clarence Marion Hovis and Gladys Black Hovis. He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary Lynn Hager Hovis; two sons, Scott Hovis and his wife, Amanda of Spartanburg, South Carolina, and Josh Hovis of Iron Station; former daughter-in-law, Michelle Hovis of Alexis; five granddaughters, Sammie, Emily, and Amy Lynn Hovis of Spartanburg, and Katie Blaine and Lily Hovis of Alexis. He is also survived by his sister, Alice Snow and her husband, Joe of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran, a computer operations manager for Jefferson Data Systems, and the owner and flight instructor of Lincoln Aero, Inc.

A funeral service, conducted by Reverends Nathan Morton and Greg Hager, will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Alexis. The family will receive friends from 2:30 until 3:45 on Tuesday, at the church.
