Rose Dunn Wilson, age 82, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday September 25, 2026 at Linclonton Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Mecklenburg County, daughter of the late Clayton and Margie Tanner Dunn. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister Diane Genrty and her brother in laws David Gerntry and Jerry Surratt.
She lived out her faith by putting her family and others before herself. Whether nursing someone back to health or opening her home to those in need, her love for others was always evident. She faithfully served the Lord at Faith Baptist Church in Belmont and ministered to those in prison through the jail ministry. Her selfless love and servant’s heart will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 65 years, Jack Wilson Jr. her children: Danny Wilson (Jennifer), Chip Wilson (Teresa), and Liz Wilson; her siblings: John Dunn (Karen), Doug Dunn, Clay Dunn (Wanda), and Pam Surratt; grandchildren: Danny, Tim, Josie, Hannah, Samuel, Lisa, and Justin; great grandchildren: Harlow and Atlas, as well as her brother and sister in laws: Kenny and Sherry Wilson, and Milas and Elaine Culberson.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday September 30, 2026 in the Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home in Mount Holly with Pastor Kenneth Wilson officiating. The family will receive friends beginning one hour prior to the service on Wednesday also at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery.
