Roy Lee Willis Jr "Butch"., age 76, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday December 1, 2022. He was born in Mecklenburg County and was the son of the late Roy Willis Sr., and Juanita Carpenter Willis. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his two brothers: Charles and Kenneth Willis. Butch will be remembered as a loving family man who especially adored his grandchildren and great grandchildren. In his spare time, he was involved with classic cars and was a former member of the Hornets' Nest Car Club for many years. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 39 years Barbara Wellman Willis, his children: Pamela Willis Brack (David), Kelly Willis Abernathy (David), Michael Willis, his stepson Mike Wellman; his grandchildren: Amber, Megan, Dylan, Ashley, Haley, Madison, and Alex; his great grandchildren: Zach, Christopher, Livi Grace, Emersyn, Ashlynn, Hayes, and Baker; as well as his sister Sandra Floyd (Dennis). A service to celebrate his life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday December 4, 2022 in the Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home, Mount Holly. The family will receive friends beginning at noon on Sunday also at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery, Mount Holly.
