Ruth Ann Rutherford Boaz of Mt Holly, NC, passed away on Monday, May 27th at the age of 96, surrounded by her loved ones.
She is finally at peace and enjoying a beautiful reunion with her husband William (Bill) Boaz, parents, and 4 siblings. We know it will be a festive celebration in heaven with her arrival!
Ruth was born August 10, 1927, in Bristol TN. After graduating from high school, Ruth attended East Tennessee State University. Ruth and her husband Bill grew up around the corner from each other and were high school sweethearts. They married in 1948 and their enduring love story continued for 52 years. They relocated to Marion, NC to begin their family, welcoming son David in 1958 and then daughter Lisa in 1960. They relocated a second time to Mt Holly for Bill’s career advancement in 1972. The family joined the First Methodist Church in Mt Holly at that time and Ruth remained a devoted and beloved member for 50 years. The Boaz home was a warm and inviting home, filled with laughter and love, a place where family and friends were always welcome. Ruth’s memory will be forever cherished by her children, family members, and friends. Her laughter, quick wit, and sense of humor will endure, and her spirit will continue to inspire us. She will live in our hearts forever.
Ruth spent the last 5 years in assisted living at Sharon Towers, Charlotte, NC. David, wife Ellen, and Lisa are very grateful for the love, care, and kindness she received while in their care. They offer special thanks to Linda, Runa, Melvina, Destiny, Tonya, Kia and Patricia for their warm devotion to Ruth each and every day. A special thanks to Irene Lopez for her frequent visits and steadfast devotion to Ruth.
Ruth is survived by her daughter Lisa Boaz, son David Boaz (wife Ellen), granddaughter Katie Powers (husband Alec) and great grandkids Jack and Jude
