Samuel Edward "Paw" Chapman, Sr., 88, passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at his home, surrounded by his family. Mr. Chapman was born in Habersham County, GA, son of the late Paul Kermit Chapman and Edna Catherine Bonds Chapman. In addition to his parents, Mr. Chapman was preceded in death by his grandson, Garren Spencer; and his siblings, Raymond Chapman, Vera Pearson, and Margaret Harvey. Mr. Chapman was a U.S. Navy Veteran.
Mr. Chapman is survived by his wife of 65 years, Doris Jean Bradshaw Chapman; his children, Susan K. Chapman, Nancy C. Maldonado (Jesus), Samuel E. Chapman, Jr. (fiance', Mark A. McCoy), Rose C. Williams (Rondale), and Tabitha C. Spencer (Terry); his grandchildren, Margarita M. Gould (Jimi), Victor A. Maldonado (Abby), Nicholas A. Spencer, Noah T. Spencer, Clay Maldonado; his great-grandchildren, Madalin Maldonado, Manny Maldonado, Alex Gould, Miles Gould, Dillon Maldonado, and Justin Maldonado; his siblings, Johnny F. Chapman (Ollie), and Barbara Theel; special granddaughter-in-law, Renee Stillwell; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Chapman will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 11, 2022, at Sunset Forest Baptist Church. Pastor Jeff Hicks will officiate. Burial, with military honors, will be held at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery, Mount Holly. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the church.
