Sharon (Hellard) Chitwood
Obituary
Sharon Hellard Chitwood, 73, passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2023. She was born in Mecklenburg County, daughter of the late Coyt and Merline Hurley Hellard. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Ronnie Hellard. She was a devoted Christian and longtime member of Lowell Smyre United Methodist Church.
A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Mrs. Chitwood is survived by her husband, James Wayne Chitwood; her sons, Dewayne Chitwood (Susan), and Michael Chitwood (Amy); her grandchildren, Christopher Chitwood, Anna Chitwood Adams (Trey), Garrett Chitwood, and Riley Chitwood; her great-granddaughter, Arianna; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A graveside service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Chitwood will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 4, 2023, at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery, Mount Holly.
