Shelia Gail (Moore) Barnes

Shelia Gail Barnes (Moore), age 82 of Belmont, NC passed away peacefully on Wednesday February 5, 2025 at home surrounded by her loving family.  Gail was a devoted mother, grandmother, and a friend to many.

She is survived by her children: Richard Barnes (Janice), Michelle Walters (Tim), and Tim Barnes (Glenys), as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her parents Delmas and Grace Cody, her brother Dan Cody, her first husband Dan Barnes, as well as her second husband Wayne Moore.  

A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Monday February 10, 2025 at New Faith Baptist Church.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 P.M. until 1:00 P.M. on Monday also at the Church.  Burial will follow at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery in Mount Holly.  

The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation and gratitude to the staff of Carolina Caring (Gaston Hospice) for their compassionate care during Gail's illness.
