With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Shirley Ann Beatty, age 86, on Wednesday, December 24, 2025 at Stanley Total Living Center. Born on June 16, 1939, Shirley lived a life full of love, dedication, and selfless service to her family and community. Shirley was born to the late Walter James and Edna Reeves Trull. In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Donald Beatty, her cherished children, Bobby Beatty and Sherry Azali, Shirley's brothers, Jimmy, Robert, Thomas, and David Trull. She has now reunited with her husband and loving parents.
A cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Shirley is survived by her children, Kimberley Lackey (Hilery) and Victor Beatty (Amber). She was the proud grandmother to Austin Beatty, Marissa Burchfield, Kortney Beatty, Trinity Beatty, Emily Trivett, Evan Abernathy, Katelyn Harvey, Alicia Beatty, and Jeffrey Beatty. She is also survived by her beloved sisters, Peggy Arrowood and Patsy Castro.
For many years, Shirley worked as a skilled seamstress. Her work was not just a job, but a testament to her passion and precision, she also carried that passion to her home church, New Covenant "Quilting Ministry". She helped make quilts and prayed over them for people who have been debilitated with health issues and concerns. She played the role of Sunday School teacher for toddlers at her church as well. Shirley's heart was beyond her sewing career; she was a light in the lives of many. Her kindness, gentle spirit, and unwavering support nurtured and inspired her family and friends. She was a woman of remarkable resilience and grace, facing life’s challenges with courage and dignity.
