Shirley Payne Dellinger, 85, passed away peacefully at her home, on Monday, May 30, 2022. She was born in Gaston County, daughter of the late Harry and Ruby Fincher Payne. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Clyde William Dellinger; and her siblings, whom she adored, Victor, Rudonna, and Dean.
Mrs. Dellinger is survived by her sons, Douglas Dellinger and Jeffery Dellinger (Denise); her grandchildren, Jessica Dellinger, Holly McMurray (Matthew), Steven Griffin (Maranda), Hannah Dellinger, and Benjamin Dellinger; her great-grandchildren, Lillian, Ethan, Carter, Caden, and Carson; and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A graveside service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Dellinger will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 5, 2022, at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery, Mount Holly.
Memorials may be made, in Mrs. Dellinger's name, to a charity of the donor's choice.
