Sophia Love Wilson

Sophia Love Wilson, age 21, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday April 30, 2025 at Novant Health Hemby Children's Hospital in Charlotte.  She was born in Mecklenburg County, daughter of Joseph and Alisa Wilson who survive.  

She is preceded in death by her sister Morgan Hope Wilson, her maternal grandfather Charles "Bob" Meadows, as well as her paternal grandparents Lewis and Peggy Wilson.  

Sophia was a loving girl who never met a stranger and was always willing to share anything she had, including her toys.  In her younger years, she loved to attend Church at Westport Baptist Church in Denver.  She was affectionately known as "Ladybug" to those who loved her.  She was happiest when she was outside going on walks and when she was sung to.  Her most favorite songs included "You Are My Sunshine", "Silent Night", "The Itsy Bitsy Spider", and "You Raise Me Up".  She also found happiness when cuddling with family and swinging on the hammock.  She never missed an opportunity to watch her favorite show Fancy Nancy and Dinners Drive Ins & Dives.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her sister Savannah Wilson, her maternal grandmother Lillie Plott, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.  

Sophia's family would like to extend a special thanks to Bayada Home Health Care and specifically Norveline Thomas, Fabiola Alexis, Caroll Mahollick, and Jeanette Gantt for their dedicated and compassionate care for Sophia over the years. 

A graveside service to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday May 2, 2025 at Pineview Cemetery in Mount Holly with Rev. Mike Young officiating.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to Hemby Children's Hospital or to Bayada Home Health Care.
