Steven Spargo Obituary

Steven Michael Spargo, age 80, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday March 27, 2025 at his home.  He was born in Mecklenburg County son of the late Frank Spargo and Hazel Willard Spargo.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings: Butch Spargo, Roger Spargo, and Larry Spargo, as well as his son Steven Spargo, Jr.

Mr. Spargo spent his career as a carpenter for Stowe Spinning Mills and raised his family on the Stowe Mill Hill.  In his younger years he loved to go coon hunting and also enjoyed hanging out with his buddies at 4 points after his retirement.  He loved his entire family and will be missed dearly.  He was a former member of Independent Baptist Tabernacle in Dallas.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Pat Spargo, his children:  Tina Flora (Randy), Lee Spargo (Rhonda), and Hall Spargo (Ann); his siblings: Kevin Spargo (Kathy), Timmy Spargo (Rita), and Brenda Sutton (David), as well as his nephews Brian and Michael Spargo.

A service to celebrate his life will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Thursday April 3, 2025 in the Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home in Mount Holly with Pastors Brian and Michael Spargo officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. on Thursday also at the Funeral Home.
