Robert Terry Homesley, a devoted family man and beloved member of the Stanley, NC community, passed away on Friday, February 13, 2026, at the age of 87. Born and raised in Stanley, NC, Terry was the cherished son of the late Robert and Willie Lee Homesley.
He is fondly remembered for his enduring love and commitment to his late wife, Judy, his high school sweetheart whom he married and cherished for 66 years. Their deep bond and love for each other were an inspiration to all who knew them.
Terry's life was rich with love and companionship. He is survived by his son, Jeff Homesley, and granddaughter, Heather( Brandon) along with many lifelong Hardee's breakfast buddies. He is also missed by his brother, Tom (Susan), and sisters, Lillian (Wayne) and Nancy (Richard). His parents, sister and brother-in-law, Billie and Roger Murray, brother and sister-in-law, Mack and Barbara Homesley, and in-laws Jerry "Foxy" and Darlene Webb preceded him in death.
A proud graduate of Stanley High School, Robert applied his training in repairing washers and dryers to serve the Stanley community. His career commenced at Derr Hardware Store in Stanley, leading to a fulfilling position at Duke Power, where he ultimately retired.
Robert had a passion for bird hunting and enjoyed many cross-country trips with Wayne and friends alongside their bird dogs. His adventurous spirit and love for the outdoors were notable aspects of his well-lived life.
A graveside service will be held at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery, Mount Holly, NC, on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. Arrangements are provided by Woodlawn Funeral Home. Condolence messages may be shared online at www.woodlawnfuneral.org.
