Pastor Timothy Dale Lee, a devoted pastor, cherished husband and father, and beloved community member, entered into eternal peace with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at the age of 67. Born and raised in North Carolina, Tim's journey was defined by his unwavering faith, compassionate heart, and boundless contributions to those around him.
Tim's life was a testament to his deep faith and dedication to serving others. He was the cherished husband of Lynne Ballinger Lee and the loving father of Tabatha Tate (Brian), Daniel Lee (Brittany), Joshua Lee (Christy), Christian Dicus (Duane), Ryan Lytle, Corrie Moore (Jacob), Bodie Lee Lytle and Oliver Lee Lytle. Tim found great joy in his role as a grandfather to his adored grandchildren: Holden, Garrett, Journey, Canyon, Zoe, Aubrey, Kelsey, Levi, Elijah, Hadleigh, Ethan, Mackenzie, Arden, Ava, and Jaxson. Additionally, he was blessed with great-grandchildren, Silas and Adelyn. He is also survived by his siblings, Chris Lee (Vanessa), Sharon Moss (Scott), and Cindy Greene (Tim). Tim was preceded in death by his loving parents, Burrell Thomas Lee and Ruby Dare Pressley.
Tim's contributions to his community were innumerable. As a pastor and mentor, he guided many on their spiritual journeys, serving as the pastor of Anchor of Hope Tabernacle in Dallas, NC. His work extended beyond the church through his role as a chaplain at Henderson Correctional Facility and the Julian F. Keith Alcohol and Drug Abuse Treatment Center. Tim's heart for service led him to support countless community initiatives, including tent revivals throughout the Southeast, and efforts for the homeless.
An avid musician, Tim played bass guitar and was an integral member of the praise band. He shared his musical talents as a bassist with Joyce and the Rogers Brothers and became the first pastor in NC to produce a CD with the inmates at Henderson Correctional Facility—a project approved by the governor.
Tim will be remembered as a soul winner for Jesus Christ, first and foremost, touching countless lives with his kindness and generosity. He was a counselor, not just professionally but as a guiding light to friends and colleagues alike. He enjoyed mission trips to Haiti, spreading the love of Christ to other communities across the world.
Tim's legacy lives on in the hearts of those he cherished and those who had the privilege to know him. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Anchor of Hope Tabernacle, continuing his work of faith and service.
A funeral service to honor Tim's life will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at 11:30 AM at Stanley Pentecostal Holiness Church in Stanley, NC. The visitation will take place prior to the service from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM. Following the service, interment will take place at Cherryville City Memorial Cemetery at 2:00 PM.
