Troy Lee Martin, Jr.

Troy Lee Martin, Jr., 93, passed away on Monday, November 11, 2024. He was born in Gaston County, son of the late Troy Lee Martin, Sr. and Theresia Wahner Martin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Louise Flowers Martin; his five siblings, as well as five half siblings.  Mr. Martin was a U.S. Army Veteran, where he served as a Sergeant during the Korean War. He enjoyed antique cars, racing (NASCAR), grandfather clocks, and woodworking.

Mr. Martin is survived by his children, Carol Bates (Gary), Mark Martin (Terri), Theresa Jenkins (Timothy), and Rita Roper; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two half-brothers; two half-sisters; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Martin will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at Ridgeview Baptist Church, Mount Holly. Pastor Leroy Mobley will officiate. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery, Mount Holly. The family will greet guests one hour prior to the service on Saturday, at the church.
