Mrs. Vicky Lupo Denton, a beloved resident of Mount Holly, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 25th, 2026, just two days shy of her 75th birthday. Born on April 27th, 1951, in Mecklenburg County, Vicky lived a life full of love, faith, and devotion.
Vicky was the cherished wife of the late Alvin Lee Denton, with whom she celebrated 52 years of a beautiful marriage. Her marriage was filled with love and companionship, and together they crafted a life and shared dreams and adventures. She will be remembered as a faithful woman who cherished her faith and served her community by joyfully attending Finish Line Christian Center where she also took pride in meticulously cleaning the church.
A master cosmetologist by profession, Vicky's dedication and passion for beauty were evident in her career and personal life. Her creative flair extended to designing artificial flowers for weddings and church services, a testament to her artistic spirit. Vicky excelled in the kitchen for her family and friends with Southern cooking her fried potatoes, pintos, and cornbread were legendary.
Vicky's family was her greatest treasure. She is survived by her loving children, Rufus Scott Denton (Angela Barker Denton) and June Denton Conroy (Kenneth Dwayne Conroy), and her adored grandchildren Zachary Scott Denton, Ryan G.-L. Denton, Payton Leigh Conroy, Kenneth Hunter Conroy and Sarah Elizabeth Barker. Vicky was also a doting great-grandmother to Sebastian Scott Denton. Her family lovingly called her "Mawmaw," a name that spoke volumes of the love and warmth she gave so freely.
She was preceded in death by her parents Rufus Byron Lupo and June Evelyn Lupo, and her devoted husband Alvin Lee Denton.
Vicky's life was enriched by her many passions which include traveling, RV camping with her family, golfing, and beach outings. Her infectious kindness defined her as a caring Christian role model to all who knew her. Her love for poodles added joy to her days, as did the many excursions across the country, filled with laughter and discovery. Though Vicky has left this earthly realm, her spirit, love, and legacy remain profoundly alive in the hearts of all who were blessed to have known her.
Arrangements will be April 29, 2026, at Finish Line Christian Center at 1:00 pm officiated by Pastor Shannon Williams. Pallbearers will include Rufus Scott Denton, Kenny Conroy, Zachary Denton, Ryan Denton, Hunter Conroy and Kevin Lupo. The family will greet guests and hour prior to the service. An interment will follow the service at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery. Vicky's legacy of love, kindness, and joy can endure through memories and through acts of charity. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to alzeheimers.org, Tunnel to Towers Foundation, and her beloved Finish Line Christian Center. Arrangements have been thoughtfully provided by Woodlawn Funeral Home.
