Waymon Eugene Waters, Sr. went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday August 4, 2024 at his home. He was born in Laurens County South Carolina and was the son of the late Waymon Waters and Jessie Cooper Moore. Waymon was a man of strong faith and was a longtime member of Stanley Church of God where he served his Lord in many different ways. Waymon was passionate about the outdoors and fostering children and helping them in their time of need including providing shoes, clothing and other items. He proudly served his county in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Talyor.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son Christopher Waters, and his step mother Katherine Waters.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife 65 years Joyce Waters. His three sons: Waymon Waters Jr. (Lois), Darryl Waters (Melissa), and Allen Waters; his brother Donald Moore (Margaret) as well as 10 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren.
A service to celebrate his life will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday August 7, 2024 at Woodlawn Funeral Home in Mount Holly with Pastor James Stacks officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 P.M. until 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday also at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Belmont.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to Trinity Full Gospel Church or to Frontline Worship Center.
