Wayne Charles Nichols

Wayne Charles Nichols, 85, met Jesus his savior on August 17, 2026 at the Stanley Total Living Center with his loving family by his side. He was born in Clay County, N.C., son of the late Clyde Henry and Mary Elizabeth Wilson Nichols. For many years he was an over the road trucker, driving for Akers Motor Lines, Bowman Freight, Curtin Freight, and A & E. He was co-founder and longtime deacon at New Faith Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife Mary Louise Fisher Nichols, daughter Tiffany Eller and husband Darren, four brothers Tommy Nichols and wife Ruby, Ray Nichols, Allen Nichols and wife Diane, Jerry Nichols, and sister Eulene Vassey.  The funeral service conducted by Pastors Michael and Brian Spargo will be held at 12 noon Friday August 21st in the Woodlawn Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery. Memorials may be made to New Faith Baptist Church, 110 Reese Street, Gastonia NC 28056.
